Introduction

        Alligator grab are suitable for use in wire operations. They can be used to clamp non-standard, foreign objects, special items or tools without a fishing neck a kind of operation tool .For instance, square, round, a kind of pulling clamp tool that cannot be used with strong magnetic tools or standard throwing and scooping tools 

structural features

   The alligator grab  is mainly composed of the fish neck, the spindle, the adjusting nut, the spring, the skirt sleeve, the shaft pin, the claws, the cylindrical pin, and the clip pin, etc. 
When the skirt sleeve is moved up and down, the claws installed on it can slide along the cylindrical pin on the spindle and rotate around the shaft pin, thereby completing the opening and closing actions; the clip pin (or pin) keeps the claws in the open position by connecting the spindle and the skirt sleeve; by adjusting the adjusting nut and compressing the spring, different levels of clamping force can be obtained. When the cutting clip pin (or the release pin of the tool string weight is lowered) is shaken downward, the skirt sleeve moves downward under the force of the spring, causing the claws to rapidly close and clamp the downhole foreign object.

usage

1. Attach the alligator grab to the basic tool string;
2. Loosen the adjusting nut;
3. Install the clip pin (or use a thin iron rod to push it into the skirt hole from the large end of the pin to secure it) ;
4. Adjust the adjusting nut and compress the spring to the appropriate position;
Note: The compression distance of the spring must be greater than the expected downward movement of the skirt; otherwise, the jaws will not be able to grip the stuck fish tightly.
5. Lower the tool; after reaching the position, perform downward impact to cut the clip pin (or lower the weight of the tool string to release the pin);
6. Lift the tool up; if the tool encounters resistance, perform upward impact to lift it to the surface.
Note: When assembling and lowering the tool, if the alligator clip is in the open position, no part of the operator's body should be below the spring to prevent the alligator clip from accidentally cutting the clip pin (or releasing the pin) and causing injury.

Maintenance and Care:

After use, promptly remove oil stains, debris, and sand particles to prevent obstruction of tool movement.
